Bishop Auckland Football Club’s Heritage Park will host its first ever European fixture on Thursday, 7th August, when Sunderland AFC take on Real Betis.
Last season Real Betis, one of the two giants of Seville, were relegated from the Spanish Primera Liga, where they played against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Betis have won La Liga once, in 1934, and the Copa del Rey twice, most recently in 2005. One of Spain’s biggest clubs, they are aiming to make an instant return to the Spanish top flight.
A spokesperson for the Bishop Auckland FC told Bishopafc.com, “We are delighted to be hosting this fixture and welcoming both professional clubs to Heritage Park”.
The match kicks off at 7:30pm on Thursday, 7th August. Tickets for the game will be priced at £15 for adults and £5 for concessions. Purchase details are yet to be confirmed, but are expected to be updated soon.
