A daycare centre in Shildon has celebrated five years on Byerley Road.
Daycare users past and present joined staff to celebrate five years since the facility opened.
Bishop Auckland Fire Service and local police also took part in the celebrations.
Funds to help pay for children’s outings were also provided in raffle prizes from local companies, raising over £400.
“A great day was had by all the children. They loved the fire engine as they were able to sit in and have their photograph taken, explore the equipment and pretend to drive it. They all loved the experience of being a fireman for the day,” explained Kim Roberts, childcare manager.
Children were also able to take part in face painting, buffet, a disco and games.
Kim said: “A huge thank you to everyone who attended it was lovely to see all the children and families together past and present. All in all, it was a great birthday celebration. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a special day.”
