A garden fete in Crook is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary this weekend.
The Our Lady and St Cuthbert’s Garden Fete was first held in 1971 and has been running every year since then.
The fete at the church and community centre on Church Hill in Crook will be opened by Baroness Hilary Armstrong at 1pm on Saturday, 25th June.
Attractions on the day will include children’s fancy dress, a steam organ, balloon shaper and magician, treasure hunt, pony rides and other games.
Admission is free of charge.
